Dear Friends,

O LORD, thou art my God; I will exalt thee, I will praise thy name; for thou hast done wonderful things; thy counsels of old are faithfulness and truth. Isaiah 25:

The Lord made it possible for us to make a trip to the south of the country.  We returned this past Monday and are very tired.

As mentioned in our previous newsletter concerning the youth camp and the conference for churches, we were in Kpalime from August10th to the 13th for youth camp. We left Kara on the 9th so that we could have a little more time before the activities started because it would be a long drive. The theme of this year’s youth camp was “Jeune Chretien tu n’es pas seul” (YOUNG CHRISTIAN YOU ARE NOT ALONE). We were expecting to have 3,000 young people but more than 3,500 were present. It was a joy and a blessing to see all these young people coming from all over the country and other parts of the world. We had good time around the Word and preaching from God’s people. Several people came out for salvation and some for commitment. Please continue praying for these new babies in the Lord. There is one person in particular who came and talked with me that I will be praying for because it is time for him to respond to the Lord’s calling in his life. It is a young man from Temple Shalom, the church I am leading in the North.

Our team from Temple Shalom stayed in Kpalime for 3 days after the youth camp because the convention started on the 18th.  We left Kpalime on the 17th for Lome.  We finished the conference on Sunday the 20th.  At this convention, we were expecting 1,000 people but we were fewer because some churches could not make it. There were more than 700 of us. Several people came out for salvation and commitment. The theme for the convention was THE CHURCH WAITING FOR THE LORD RETURN OR WHAT SHOULD WE BE DOING ON WAITING FOR JESUS TO COME?  It is taken from Titus 2:1. “Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ.”  Sooner or later, we will be seeing the King. What a glorious day!

We were very thankful to the Lord for everything.

My wife and I were almost involved in a huge and dangerous car accident that Sunday night, after we were finished with everything and going back home, but the Lord delivered us in a miraculous way. May His name be praised. Our team left on Monday the 21st to come back to Kara and arrived around 4 p.m.  They were very exhausted.

The Lord has provided in a mysterious way for the continuation of the construction building, Temple Shalom, in Kara. This provision came at an appropriate time as He always does. Sometimes we marvel at how the Lord intervenes.

Please continue praying for all the church building projects and the school too.

I do not remember the last time we had a team from United States visit us, but we are so blessed and thankful to the Lord that He is sending us a team on October 17 to October 23, 2023, from Idaho.  As in the past, we believe that the presence of this team will be another way the Lord’s work in Togo will be once more greatly bless. The team will be involved in the pastors’ seminar in Lome, the capital town, where we are looking for 50 to 100 people, the women’s conference in Kara where we are expecting 70 to 120 and the children club where we are looking for 70 to 100. Finally, the team will be involved in the Sunday schools and preaching. We know it will be exhausting week for the team, and therefore, are asking you to pray for their preparations and the time we will spend together here around the Word of God. Truly, our people are looking forward to this time because as I mentioned it has been a while since we had visitors from the States.

The door is wide open for each person and any team who is directed by the Lord to come and help us in any area regarding the ministry. YOU ARE ALWAYS WELCOMED AND WE LOVE VISITORS!

We are sincerely thankful to each one of you and to the churches who continue praying and supporting us and the ministry financially. We assure you of our prayers on your behalf.

In the Service of the King of Kings,

Pastor Paul and Nicole ASSIGNON
