Greetings from West Dover. What a beautiful fall day; cool, wind blowing off the harbor!

My daily devotion today is Romans 15:4-6: “For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope. Now the God of patience and consolation grant you to be likeminded one toward another according to Christ Jesus: That ye may with one mind and one mouth glorify God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.”

What I noticed is that the word “endure”, comes from two Greek words meaning to remain under, but remaining under and in the presence of our holy God, instead of doing anything in our own strength. That is what I need because I have no strength of my own! Other verses to read about promises of enduring are: Psalm 91:1, 2Thessalonians 2:16, 17, also Philippians 1:4-6. They have encouraged us to keep on living for the Lord, asking Him for the ability.

This summer, in July, Elise and I were leaders at D.V.B.S. We had forty children attend. It was a blessing to see them having fun and hearing God’s Word the whole week. We closed out the week with a barbecue for them and their family. It was a nice, hot day, great for the slip-n-slide!

I (Ben), am having surgery on September 19, could you pray for healing? It is hernia repair and another issue where I will have two different surgeons operating. Thank you!

The church Elise and I attend asked me if I would like to speak at times and also lead the Breaking of Bread. We are pleased that God is using Elise and I at the church as that is our desire and prayer has been. Please pray for our AWANA Program, which just started on September 14. We are both leaders and we had 29 children the first night, praise God!

In closing, we continue to pray for each one of you, as you are dear to us. Thank you for supporting us in prayer and through your gifts. May the peace of God be with you all. We thank God for each of you!

In His Precious Name,

Ben and Elise
