Dear prayer partners and financial supporters

Greetings in the unconditional name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

“Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth.” 3John 2

HAPPY NEW YEAR

Ministry News

As we just crossed the line into the New Year, my family and I want to thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your support and  prayers during year 2022. When we look back and sum up all the challenges and highlights of the past year, we are amazed, and we thank the Lord for your partnership in reaching Togo with the Gospel.

From October through December, we have done little on building because we have come short of the funds needed to do the concrete roof. However, we have made the hourdi bricks that will be used for the purpose. Meanwhile, in December, following the advice of the architect, we have temporarily covered the building. That is where we celebrated Christmas and New Year worship services and have been worshipping there since.

The Ewe reading class is over now and each participant received an Ewe bible. The year 2022 has been the most challenging regarding managing the ministry because of a leadership crisis that started in January prior to laying the foundation of the building. But by God’s grace we have come through it all. The themes for this year are spiritual growth through revival and the love for sinners with emphasis on evangelism. These ministry activities are going to keep us busy till the middle of the year when our furlough will start.

Dear friend, we are longing to see our grandson. God willing we will be in the States, first to rest, then to see families. We are also coming to raise all the remaining funds for our building projects. As you already know, this is a three step project. First is the church sanctuary, then the classrooms, and thirdly the church parsonage. Three churches and friends have recently given for the building project. Thank you so much and may God bless you abundantly. We would like to visit and report to you personally. Please let us know of any open date that we can come.

Family news

We are doing well despite some usual health concerns. About three weeks ago, Elisabeth had an accident. While crossing over the motorcycle pathway that passes by the marketplace she was hit by a motorcycle. I took her to the hospital for care. The X-rays did not reveal any broken bone, but she was seriously hurt at the left shoulder and had some injuries at the left knee and elbow. Treatment is going well and a check up is scheduled for next week. Please pray for full recovery. Samuel continues to grow and is now a young man. He continues to play the keyboard at church. When a key is broken he will impatiently ask that I replace it right away. Thankfully, we have brought back home a keyboard from Delevan Baptist Church and the key of that instrument provides the replacement keys for our Casio keyboard that I bought in Florida about 20 years ago. Samuel likes that keyboard so much that he prefers it over the new Yamaha that we bought for the ministry.

Praises

Praise God for Elisabeth recovery from injuries after the motorcycle accident.
