Dear Prayer Partners and Supporters,

We greet you in the Name of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ!

On the Road

Covid-19 has made travel difficult but Al and Mary Irwin, FMI Field Representatives, and Acting FMI Director, Rev. James Arnold, are booking meetings. If you would like Jim or the Irwins to come to your church and present the ministry of FMI, please contact us here at IGM and we will put you in contact with them.

Coronavirus

We have only been notified of two orphans who caught Covid-19. No deaths from Covid-19 among our orphans have been reported. Among the orphan pastors and their families, there has been only one possible case reported. We praise the Lord for His protection and mercy on these little ones and the FMI pastors and their families!

Spotlight

In this section, I would like to spotlight some of FMI’s orphan pastors.

Today, we go east from Ivory Coast to the country of Uganda. Let me introduce you to Pastor Paul Okoth. He is the pastor of Born Again Baptist Church in Tororo, Uganda. He currently has twenty-two orphans needing support. Let’s meet a couple of them.

First, let’s meet Kwiri Yokoyasi. His father died when he was in primary school and his mother abandoned the family. He has had a difficult time in his life simply obtaining the necessities like food and clothing.

Now let’s meet Ochieng Benard. He was born shortly before Thanksgiving in 2017 so he is only about three years old at the time of this writing. His parents were both in high school when Benard was conceived but his father immediately disappeared and his mother did not know who he was. Because of this, Benard’s mother was blamed for the pregnancy and she later committed suicide. Benard lives with his aunt.

Conclusion

Kwiri’s and Benard’s stories are heard again and again in the lives of many of FMI’s orphans. Can you make a difference in the life of a child like Benard? Could you make a difference in the life of an older orphan like Kwiri?

Currently, only ~ 40% of the orphans registered in FMI and eligible to receive support receive support of any kind.

How can I help?

Pray – pray for God’s protection and provision for these little ones.  “A father of the fatherless, and a judge of the widows, is God in his holy habitation.” Psalm 68:5

Support – there are several ways you can support an orphan. Please contact FMI to learn more. “Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world.” James 1:27

Sincerely,

Cheryl Smith for the Arnolds and the Irwins
