Terry and Laura Moore, IGM Representative — November Newsletter

“Make a joyful noise unto the Lord, all ye lands. Serve the Lord with gladness: come before his presence with singing. Know ye that the Lord he is God: it is he that hath made us, and not we ourselves; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture. Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name. For the Lord is good; his mercy is everlasting; and his truth endureth to all generations.” Psalm 100

Thank you for the prayers that have been lifted up for Laura as she underwent, and continues to recover from, knee surgery on October 25th. The surgeon was able to remove a diseased portion of bone in her right knee and replace it with a cadaver graft. She continues to recuperate at home and, Lord willing, will return to her teaching responsibilities at Prattsburgh Central School in early December.

We are excited to share that we have an offer on our house in Painted Post, and expect to close at the end of this month. We have been praying for several years for God to allow us to sell and then purchase a home in Prattsburgh, the town in which Laura teaches and the girls attend school. Because of HIS perfect timing, last week we made a purchase offer on a fixer-upper home on Chapel St. in Prattsburgh. The previous owner gutted the two-story home with the intention of extensively renovating it. He subsequently injured his back and has been unable to complete the work. Upon closing of the sale, there is much work to be done, but by God’s providence, we look forward to embracing the challenge! If you are able-bodied and willing to help with this endeavor, we anticipate completing a lion’s share of the work the first two weeks of December and would love the help!

Catie is beginning to wind down her last few weeks of her first semester at Houghton. Terry and the girls traveled to Houghton on Sunday, November 5th, to attend a Crowder concert together. It was a wonderful time together.

Emi, Susie and CJ are all involved with the ladies’ basketball program at Prattsburgh Central School. Emi is on the varsity squad for the second year and Susie plays with the Modified team. CJ works hard as a manager for the varsity team, keeping water bottles filled, and running errands for the coaches.

On November 28th, Laura and Terry will be celebrating their 19th wedding anniversary.

The process of scheduling opportunities for the Moore family to share their ministry and burden for missions with churches and individuals throughout New York, Pennsylvania and beyond has begun. If your church is planning a missions Sunday or a multi-day Missions conference in 2018, we would LOVE the opportunity to visit YOU! Please contact us at TGMoore@IGMOnline.org.

Monthly Mission Spotlight: FAITH Ministries International (FMI)

“Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, to visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction…” James 1:27a

(FMI) has been serving orphans all over the world since 1990. According to the last UNICEF world census report (2008), there are approximately 145 million orphans worldwide. Jesus Christ is their only hope, and we desire to reach these precious children with the love of Christ.

FMI’s vision is to see the orphans

• Cared for and loved
• Become children of God
• Trained in holiness
• Reaching the world for Christ

FMI partners with pastors and missionaries with orphan ministries, helping them to provide love and care for orphaned and abandoned children. The orphans attend church, Sunday school and Bible studies, and receive food, clothing, shelter, and education to demonstrate the love of Christ in a tangible way. Our ultimate goal is for the orphans to grow up knowing Christ and reaching their community for Christ.

YOU can help!!

• Sponsor an Orphan: You can choose to support one or more orphans. This is a commitment of at least one year to help provide stability for the children. The current support level for an orphan is $35 a month.
• Sponsor a National Pastor’s orphan ministry: Any funds received for a pastor’s orphan ministry will go directly to that pastor to be used for orphan care.
• Sponsor FMI: Gifts given to the general FMI fund are used for orphan emergencies and administrative purposes.
