Shimreipam Phungshok, Vision2020Asia — January and February

Dear Pastors, Churches and Friends,

We want to begin by thanking you all for the Christmas gifts and by greeting you in this New Year that God has given to us to serve Him. We praise the Lord for all His mercy and grace. We are thankful for all that God has done for us in 2016 and are excited for what He has in store for 2017. God has answered so many prayers and supplied every need thus far, and I believe He is able to continue to supply through His people.

We began the New Year with fasting. We went into the forest for one whole day. Many family members were able to attend this fasting program. We had a great, refreshing time of praising, singing hymns and praying to Almighty God. We asked God to give us wisdom and knowledge to live for Him this New Year. We also prayed for each member of our family, our children and most importantly, for our church to win more souls for Christ in 2017.

For the first time, I was able to preach at TBC New Checkon on January 29th for the morning & evening services. I had a great and wonderful time of preaching with the great power of God. It was unbelievable! The altar was full of people, the church leader stood, half of the deacons came forward as well as the song leader and the program leader. They all gladly received Christ as their own personal Lord and Savior! Oh what a joy it was! I believe more than seventy souls were saved. Praise the Lord.

This month, I had the privilege to conduct and preach at two different condolence services. I reminded them of Hebrews 9:27 “And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:” As a father, I am proud to say that my son, Jeremiah, passed his exam and Sunday school exam with flying colors. Faith, our little girl, has started to speak and run and sing. We are so grateful and blessed to see our kids growing up each day and to teach them about the Word of our Lord Jesus. Please continue to pray for our family.

I had mentioned in my last prayer letter about the economic blockade in Manipur by UNC groups. This will enter its 110th day tomorrow. The prices of essential commodities went up like a sky rocket. Also, the Manipur general election is coming up next month. Kindly pray for the Manipur election so that God will elect more Godly leaders.

Thank you for your part in our ministry. We certainly know we could not do what we do without you. As always, we don’t know how to thank the Lord enough for all of you who pray and give.

Because of Christ,
Faith, Jeremiah, Awon & Shimrei Phungshok
