Greetings in the blessed Name of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ! It continues to be an incredibly busy season in our lives and ministry, however, God’s peace and providence has been a constant source of strength and stamina. Terry has been traveling extensively with Pastor Vijay Polimetla, an IGM national church pastor visiting the United States from his home in the Krishna district of Andhra Pradesh, South India. Thanks to the blessed support of our sending church and current pastorate, Boyd’s Corners Bible Church in Jasper, NY, Terry has been able to serve as Pastor Vijay’s team leader. It has been humbling to see how receptive God’s people have been to Pastor Vijay’s ministry and their willingness to support the work God is doing through him in India. Please pray for Terry and Pastor Vijay as they continue to travel throughout NY and PA, sharing the burden for the lost in South India.
The 2017-18 school year is officially underway. This year Emi is in 10th grade, Susie is in 8th grade and Camryn is in 5th grade. This fall, all three girls are members of the Prattsburgh Central School Ladies Vikings Tennis team. Lauryn and Susie are both varsity players and Camryn is a team manager. In addition, Lauryn was honored by being appointed to serve as one of the two team captains this year.
Catie has begun her first semester at Houghton College in Houghton, NY, where she is working towards her Bachelor of Science in Biology degree. Due to her efforts in high school and the availability of college courses at PCS, Cate will be completing her four-year degree in only two years! On September 21, Cate had an early admission interview with the Lake Erie School of Osteopathic Medicine. It has always been her dream to become a surgeon and it is exciting to see her pursue this goal.
Laura has begun her 18th year of teaching instrumental and vocal music at Prattsburgh Central School. This year, she will be directing all of the Junior and Senior High ensembles as well as teaching lessons. In addition, Laura continues to work on her Master’s degree in School Administration through the University of Scranton.
On November 28th, Laura and Terry will be celebrating their 19th wedding anniversary.
The Boyd’s Corners Bible Church continues to seek God’s leading regarding the next pastor of the church. Despite this pending transition, the church is actively ministering, growing (both spiritually and numerically), and serving. A missions focus has highlighted the past several weeks at BCBC: August 27th, Sonja Johnson, Financial Director and International Representative for Accountability for IGM, shared her ministry at Boyd’s Corners. Sunday, September 3rd, Pastor Vijay Polimetla (Andhra Pradesh, South India) visited the church and on September 19th, Pastor Justus Wafula (Kenya) spoke at JOY Club/Bible Study.
Terry has been invited to travel to Kenya, January 11 through January 22, to present at two Bible conferences, 1/12-15 in Mombasa and 1/17-21 in Bungoma. These conferences are being conducted for a national fellowship of Baptist pastors and will include co-laborers in the ministry of the Gospel of Jesus Christ from across the eastern African nation. The approximate cost for travel, visas, and expenses for this journey is $3,500. Despite having not yet had the opportunity to begin raising personal support, we are confident in God’s provision through His body, the church. Please prayerfully consider partnering with Pastor Terry and International Gospel Missions for this trip as a prayer and/or financial partner.
FOCUS: NATIONAL CHURCH PLANTER, Vijay Polimetla
Pastor Vijay Polimetla is serving the Lord in the Krishna district of Andhra Pradesh, South India, with his wife, Mehetha, and his two children, Blessy and Angelina. Pastor Vijay leads four congregations in and near his home in Movva. His ministries include weekly worship and prayer meetings, open-air crusades, a thriving food ministry, and special outreaches for widows and children.
The church in India is facing ever-increasing levels of persecution and hardship. The ruling RSS party of government is seeking ways to reduce the number of Indians converting to non-Hindu religions, thereby throwing open the door to state-sanctioned abuse, scorn, fining and imprisonment. Will you join us in praying for Pastor Vijay’s ministry to the people of Andhra Pradesh?
