Dear Brethern!
I greet you all in the precious name of our lord and Savior Jesus Christ. It was no mistake when Jesus informed us in Mathew 24 that the end time will be characterized by extreme hardship, especially against God elect. If that time was in the distant future, then that distant future is now!
The situation that is emerging in Liberia is beyond belief. The economy has gone from bad to worse with every basic commodity at stake. The present situation of gas shortage is life-threatening. As I write this communication, the price of one gallon of gasoline is $ 15USD or three thousand Liberian dollars. Worst of all, you cannot see gasoline on sale in the open. Business people get the gasoline from neighboring countries and hide them in their houses only to sky-rocket the price.
If a tanker is due to deliver gas at a certain filling station, Liberians in their hundreds will sleep in the open on the road for days to get at least a gallon or two. This is humiliating! Pregnant women are being transported on motor bikes from the interior to the city to attend the hospital. Sometimes in the process some die. To the capital city people are walking from one point to another both old and young.
In the midst of all of these, the Unity Baptist Churches in Liberia will be hosting her Annual Bible Teaching Conference this time deep in the interior of Rivercess County, about two hundred and fifty miles. Due to the gas crisis, transportation fares have been increased 100%. But the conference is set and we can’t change the date. We are to leave Monrovia the capital city on Monday March 2, 2020. We have arranger for five (5) seated buses to take us to the conference and back. Each bus changed $ 200 USD, totaling $ 1000 USD. We didn’t expert this but it came on us, like a whirlwind. We are trying our best to raise this money and we know God is going to provide, because it is his work and cause we have given our life as a sacrifice. Please pray for us.
