Moses Chatla

Baptist India Ministries

Moses was born into a pastor’s family and is the third generation involved in ministry. Growing up, he was very active in children’s and youth programs in the church, however, his involvement was more of a pressure than commitment. Finally, he accepted Christ as his personal Savior on December 31, 1997.

As he grew up, he saw his parents (Dr. & Mrs. Chatla Devasahayam) experience many troubles,  humiliations, sufferings, and persecution due to their faithfulness to Christ. Moses was hesitant to take up the cross. It was his intention to get a good education, job, and support the ministry. But, God strengthened his faith through the example of Moses found in Exodus 3-4. He was challenged by God’s assurance to Moses against the five objections he posed to God in order to escape from his God-given mission. “I will be with you,” are the words that prompted him to dedicate his life and to carry the cross. He joined IGM in 2008.

Vision: Our Lord Jesus Christ commands us in Mark 16:15 to “Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.” Many in India have not heard the Name, “Jesus” even once in their life. India has a population of 120 billion people living in 29 states, primarily in 7,000,000 villages, and speaking 1,652 languages. God has given us a vision to reach these unreached people with the Gospel for the glory of our Savior.

Moses and Denah have two children, Titus and Lindsey.
