Sarah and I and our children in town had a meeting with the surgeon last Wednesday.
Sarah can’t take blood thinners anymore because she bleeds from the colon even with baby aspirins. The surgery was to clamp off a blood vessel to keep her from having a stroke. They could do a procedure called a watchman but she would have to take a blood thinner for 45 days after the procedure and she would bleed too much.
They were talking about open heart or going through the ribs.
I asked the surgeon if he would do the surgery if it were his wife. He said, no, he wouldn’t, so there was our answer.
She will have to take her chances on a stroke. Personally, I think she is too weak for surgery and especially at the age of 86.
Thank you for your prayers and continued prayers.
