Garnet Samuels, Trinidad — Covid-19

“Not unto us, o Lord, not unto us, but unto thy name give glory, for thy mercy, and for thy truth’s sake. (Psalm 115: 1)

Dear Brethren,

It is said that when a train goes through a tunnel and it gets dark, you don’t throw away the ticket and jump off. You sit still and trust the engineer. Continue to trust God no matter how dark your situation. God says YOU ARE COMING OUT. Remember that nothing ahead of us is bigger and stronger than the POWER of God behind us.

We are thankful to God that He has given us the opportunity to continue serving Him in the island of Trinidad. We are also very grateful that Almighty God has made you our partners in His service. We are members of a world team; therefore, we are partners in a grand adventure. We thank you very much for your commitment in supporting us both prayerfully and financially as we labor here in Trinidad. We know you have your own burdens to deal with but in spite of it all, you continue to help us. We praise God for you.

 Ministry Update

Our church is seriously affected by the difficulties associated with the Coronavirus pandemic. We were able to use our church building for Sunday morning service from July to mid-August but since August 17, 2020 the country went under another lockdown. Presently, we conduct all our services on the Zoom platform.

These days I go to the church building at least two times per week to counsel with people who are facing relational, financial, emotional, physical and spiritual challenges. Presently, I am dealing with an individual that is suicidal. This person has lost his house, job, a son by gun violence, is about to lose his wife and also has a serious health problem.

At present I am preparing four persons for water baptism.

Prayer Requests

Please pray for the young converts who are being prepared for water baptism.

  1. Pray for the man who wants to commit suicide.
  2. Pray for the members of the church that are facing serious financial and health challenges.
  3. Pray that I will continue to have strength and wisdom to help others with their problems and also to deal with my personal problems.
  4. Continue to pray that God will protect my wife and I as we labor in Trinidad and Tobago.
  5. Pray for our children, they are still living in Grenada.

Once again, thank you so much for your continued prayer and financial support. We are thankful that you are in partnership with us to spread the Gospel in Trinidad and Tobago.

Please continue to stay safe and remain faithful to our Almighty God.

Thanks for being a part of this ministry.

May God continue to bless all of you.

Yours in the service of Jesus Christ,

Garnet Samuels (Pastor)
