Al and Mary Irwin have joined the FMI team as FMI’s field representatives. I will let them introduce themselves to you in the future but for now, let me say that they love the Lord, are the parents of five adult children, and are active in their home church. Perhaps they may come to your church and present the ministry of FMI in the future as the Lord leads!
Update on Acting FMI Director, Rev. James Arnold
Rev. Jim and his wife, Denise, are both recovering from their health issues. Jim is eager to return to visiting churches to present the ministry of FMI and to seek support for these fatherless or motherless (or both) children.
Coronavirus
Every day, we hear of more confirmed cases of the coronavirus and more events being postponed or canceled. Jim Arnold and the Irwins are unable to travel to churches to present FMI and for Jim, this presents a financial strain as it does for many, many other people in this country and around the world. Please remember to pray for God’s protection and provision during this outbreak. Please pray especially for FMI’s orphans around the world that they would be safe from this virus.
Spotlight
In this section, I would like to spotlight some of FMI’s orphan pastors.
Today, I would like to spotlight Pastor John Orinda’s orphan ministry.
Pastor Orinda ministers in the Mathare slums in Nairobi, Kenya. There is much poverty and many single parents in the slums. Pastor Orinda has twenty-four orphans registered with FMI and only three of them receive any kind of support. Please pray for these children that not only would their physical needs be met, but that they would be protected spiritually in this environment. If God would put it on your heart to support one or more of these needy children, please contact us here at IGM and we would be delighted to connect you to a boy or girl who needs your love and your support!
Conclusion
Currently, only 37% of the orphans registered in FMI and eligible to receive support receive any kind of support. Can you make a difference in the life of one of these children?
Pray – pray for God’s protection and provision for these little ones. “A father of the fatherless, and a judge of the widows, is God in his holy habitation.” Psalm 68:5
Support – there are several ways you can support an orphan. Please contact FMI to learn more. “Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world.” James 1:27
