Edoh “Paul” Assignon, Togo — Church Reports

“For great is the LORD, and greatly to be praised: he also is to be feared above all gods.”  I Chronicles 16:25

My wife is still in the south of the country consulting doctors for her back pains. She had have a scan. She was at the ABWE hospital in Tsiko and went to another specialist in another hospital in Lome, the capital town. She was told that she will have to go through surgery if the pains persist. Our daughter, who had knee surgery on her left foot last year, is feeling some pains in her right leg. Please, continue praying for them regarding their health issues.

Our pastors’ families are doing well by His grace. Two of them had motor accidents but they are doing much better. We had a good meeting the other day with our pastors. All of them could not make it. The Lord is really blessing the efforts of each of us. But we notice that there is a lot to be done. May He receive all the glory.

Two of our orphans are sick but the others are doing well. One of the orphan’s father started worshipping with us. Please, pray for his salvation. He is an alcoholic.

From Pastor David Belley of Liberty Baptist Bible Church, Chateau Kpalime

“What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us?”  Romans 8:31

“We went through many attacks in the second and third quarters with health problems. But the Lord was good to us and we went through them, though we there was much we could not do. He brought us to a new worshipping year which started on Sunday, January 1st. We thank Him.

We also thank the Lord for Pastor Paul Assignon’s trip to the USA for about five and a half months. We hope the journey will soon bear fruit for we have many needs and challenges on the fields to be met.

We were able to organize Vacation Bible School with the kids from the 14th to the 16th of October. I am very glad that 13 of them gave their life to the Lord. There were 72 in total. We have been limited with means to do much. It is a crucial need and I hope that next September you will sustain us with $350 to do better. We need materials and awards to motivate them. We had been having more than 100 kids but we lack support. So, please help us renew with the children with: T-shirts, pens, pencils, balls and funds. We feed them twice a day. We could have run the VBS for a week or 5 days if means had been available.

We also succeeded with the Youth Day which was the  25th of November as the last Sunday of the month every year. Though the actors have left, new ones also have arrived.

The year-ending programs have been held as usual with a revival meetings from Christmas Day to the 30th. And on the 31st, we had special testimonies named: “Count your Blessings Throughout the Year”.

God bless you, brothers and sisters, for your support. Pray also for some needy kids we are working with.” David Yawo Belley.

Pastor Bruce from Redemption Baptist Church in Lome

“A man called me the other day to find our meeting place. The man said that he heard the preaching on air. The man came to ask more questions and he accepted Christ as His Savior and Lord that day. He started worshipping with us and he joined the church. Praise the Lord.

We want to ask you to pray for Pastors Seck and Senghor serving in Sokode. This town is mostly populated by Muslims. The churches are going through some attacks. Pray also that the Lord may provide for the tablets as soon as possible so that they may not go to the public cyber cafes. All these cyber cafes are run by Muslims and there are risks.”

We are so glad to start seeing some changes in the lives of our orphans, especially the smiles on their faces. They are faithfully coming to the church. Please, continue praying for their spiritual growth. Pray also for those among them who do not have sponsors yet.

We are so thankful to the Lord for helping us to start laying the foundation one of the church buildings in Kara. We have a long way to go with this building but we are counting on your prayers and, if possible, your financial assistance to continue with this building construction.

It is a wonderful thing to know that we have friends like you who are so concerned, so loving and give your time and your finances sacrificially to support us and the ministry the Lord has given us in this part of the world.
May He continue blessing you as it is written: “And God is able to make all grace abound toward you; that ye, always having all sufficiency in all things, may abound to every good work:…Now he that ministereth seed to the sower both minister bread for your food, and multiply your seed sown, and increase the fruits of your righteousness;)”  2 Cor. 9:8, 10
