Greetings once again in the wonderful Name of the Lord Jesus Christ! Joanne and I are keeping well. We just concluded our missions conference at Morningside Baptist Church with the theme “Churches Reproducing Churches”. The message by Pastor Pearson Johnson was very convicting and, at the same time, challenging as to how churches should concentrate on reproducing other churches instead of getting larger and larger numerically. As mentioned in my last prayer letter, Cory Chartier traveled with me on my previous trip to India and visited most of our ministry partners. We had a great time of fellowship and ministering the Word of God together. Please pray for Cory and Carie as they decide the direction they believe that God would have them to go.
One of the ministries that Vision2020Asia has parented, along with David Bennett from Silent Word Ministries, is a ministry to the deaf under the prudent oversight of Pastor Bimal Gurung, Indu Chothe’s brother. Recently, Bimal had the joy of leading deaf Shradah, pictured with Bimal, to the Lord Jesus Christ. Bimal and his wife, Mala, have begun a tailoring ministry to help teach the deaf a trade. Shradah is one of the tailoring class students. Randy and Kelly Johnson, from First Bibles International visited the Gurungs and Randy presented Shradah with her own precious new Bible. FBI has recently completed the translation and printing of the Nepalese KJV Bible. Praise the Lord for FBI’s and BPS’s diligent efforts. February 12th, I will be returning to India. I will be accompanied on this trip only by our men on the field. Please pray for a fruitful trip.
We are in the process of collecting theological books for three English-based Bible Colleges partnering with our ministry in North India. Our US Chairman, Dr. Tony Miller, wrote the following:
“Do you – or someone you know – have doctrinally sound Bible study books, such as Bible commentaries, Bible dictionaries, missionary biographies, apologetics books, etc. that could be donated to the Northern India Missions Book Project? … It is true that most young Bible students in the U.S., and many of the older generation, now use electronic Bible study programs for devotions and for study. But in much of the other parts of the world, technological or electrical considerations make that impossible. Much of northern India is such a place, but there are students anxious to take the Word of God to their own villages and to nearby countries. Our desire is to ship a full container in the July-August time frame. When in the States, Jim’s cell contact is 864-303-8029. How else can you help?
1) If you are in the eastern U.S., perhaps your church could be a collection station for nearby book donors. We can arrange pick-up after June 15.
2) The container will be shipped from BPS, Milford, Ohio. Anyone in the Northeastern US, please DO NOT drop off any books to BPS before June 20th. Boxes NOT already clearly designated by name will be distributed equally.
3) You may donate to help defray the estimated $9,000 cost of shipping and distribution. Send donations to IGM, designated for “North India Missions Book Project” C/O International Gospel Missions, a Baptist Missions Agency, 990 Calkins Road, Rochester, NY 14623. 4) Pray for the Lord to provide a full container. The estimated shipping and distribution costs are for a 20’ container.
Thank you for considering this much-needed project to help prepare needed reapers for the harvest. firstname.lastname@example.org .”
