Praise ye the LORD. Praise, O ye servants of the LORD, praise the name of the LORD. Blessed be the name of the LORD from this time forth and for evermore. From the rising of the sun unto the going down of the same the LORD’S name is to be praised. The LORD is high above all nations, and his glory above the heavens. Psalm 113:1-4
THE NEWHARTS and IGM:
Nancy and I trust you had a blessed Christmas, celebrating the birth of His Son, the Lord Jesus. It was special to have our two children with us and all the grandchildren. The Christmas Eve service at church was blessed and it was a joy to see so many in attendance. The Lord was lifted up and our hearts rang out with joy that we serve a living Savior. We wish you all could have been with us. However, I am sure you could say the same.
On December 26, Nancy went out to get the mail at IGM and slipped on black ice and fell, fracturing a bone on her right ring finger knuckle. All hardware from her 2016 injury is okay. She is being treated by the same doctor who cared for her after the automobile accident in 2016. She has a removable (showers only) splint to aid healing. She is a very special lady and spends hours working at IGM to help meet the needs of 140 pastors under IGM. I really would have an insurmountable task if it weren’t for her. Please pray for quick healing and safety as I will be on my trip very soon.
A new year is upon us and the old has passed, but for certain, another year gives us the blessed opportunity to declare the saving grace of our Lord Jesus. Each day as it goes by is one more day closer to spending eternity with our Heavenly Father, His blessed Son, and the Person of the Holy Spirit. It is at the Name of Jesus that every knee shall bow one day and give an account of their life here on planet Earth. It always amazes me how a year can be so unique with change that we never expected. I know at the end of this year, God saw fit to take one of His special children, Len Platten, our retired Finance Director, home to glory. He was loved by all of us here at IGM. His timing is perfect timing and His ways are certainly not our ways. Please keep Betty Platten in your prayers as she adjusts to living without Len. 2018 will bring about many changes in which we will have no control. However, where we can make a difference, we should, but all the glory should be to Him regardless.
Trip to Kenya and Ivory Coast:
On January 11, 2018, by His grace, two other precious men and I will leave this country to visit our brothers and sisters in Kenya and the Ivory Coast. Tickets and visas have been purchased, messages are being put together, and soon, our departure will be at hand. By God’s grace, we will return on February 1st. I would sincerely appreciate your prayers for my precious wife as we will be apart for almost three weeks. Times like these are never easy but for God and the advancement of His kingdom, it is worth it all. Pray that pastors and people will be encouraged, and that those who are lost might come to know Him. (See schedule on the back)
National Church Planters Visiting the USA
In March, we will be having three national pastors join us for 6 weeks to visit supporters and churches: Larque Vaye, Liberia, Thimote Dayamba, Burkina Faso, and Anthony Juma, Kenya. These men have not visited the US in several years. It is our privilege to be able to serve these Godly men.
Psalm 133 – Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity! It is like the precious ointment upon the head, that ran down the beard, even Aaron’s beard: that went down to the skirts of his garments; As the dew of Hermon, and as the dew that descended upon the mountains of Zion: for there the LORD commanded the blessings, even life for evermore.
May the Lord bless you as you continue to serve Him in your local church. We thank you for your faithful financial support and/or prayer support that helps us live and serve our IGM family around the world.
