Cleophas Wamalwa, Kenya — Flooding

Dear Prayer Partners,

Greetings in the Name of our Lord Jesus Christ. It is my desire and hope that you are doing well. By God’s grace, my wife, Rachel, and our children, Gideon and Joy, are pressing on towards the goal to which Christ called and commissioned all Gospel believers. MATTHEW 28:19,20

I want to give a short update about our ever-changing situation here in Naivasha, Kenya. Our Redeemed Baptist Church building and parsonage are still flooded from the continuous rain. Just last week, the slowly receding water returned to higher levels once again. We have recently been able to have church services once again in a rented, private school room. We rejoice over being able to assemble and worship our Lord together again, despite the fact that we cannot fit
everyone into the room and each week several, sit outside the door to listen and worship. We are looking forward to having a tent to try to further help accommodate those who come to worship.

There are many physical and material needs with so many families being forced out of their homes because of the floods and many have even lost jobs. We help as we can with what we have and truly ask our Lord to make up the difference for these hurting folks. Throughout these days, we have continued to rest in the truth of ROMANS 8:28, “AND WE KNOW THAT ALL THINGS WORK TOGETHER FOR GOOD TO THEM THAT LOVE GOD, TO THEM WHO ARE THE CALLED ACCORDING TO HIS PURPOSE.” We have also held firmly to the Scripture in the book of James 4:2-3, “…ye have not, because ye ask not. Ye ask, and receive not, because ye ask amiss…”

Below are some praises we would like you to rejoice over with us, as well as some prayer requests we would like you to lift up to the Lord on our behalf.

A. We are rejoicing and praising God for the six souls who accepted our Lord Jesus Christ in the past three weeks through the preaching and teaching of Pastor Douglas Evans via webcam.

B. Rejoicing for the funds we received for the renting of our worship place, our living place, and relief funds for basic needs

C. Praising God for assembling our believers every Sunday again though they are walking long distances to fellowship in our new place.

A. Pray that some of our dear brothers and sisters in Christ around the world would consider asking our Lord if He would have them team up with us by providing some of our needed monthly support, enabling Redeemed Baptist Church to
continue to pay our rented church and living space, provide emergency provisions for so many dislocated families, and for the spreading of the Gospel in these trying times.

B. Pray for God’s intervention on our flooded land that families would be able to return to their homes and jobs and that we will be able to return to our church building.

C. Pray that the six souls would seek discipleship and grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.

D. Pray that God would save more souls and that they would grow in sound doctrine.

Thank you so much for taking some of your precious time to see what our Lord is doing here in Naivasha, Kenya.

Serving Together,

Pastor Cleophas and Rachel Wamalwa
